Covid-19 Information

More information on COVID-19 for our guests and owners

Here at Aberdovey Cottages, we are doing everything that we can to ensure that everyone stays safe.  We ask that our owners and guests do so too.

The Welsh Assembly Government, the Local Authorities and the North Wales Police have asked that we continue to maintain the 2 metre social distancing rule, in order to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus (covid-19).

The Government have instructed that non-essential travel should still not be attempted. Travelling to your holiday accommodation is not classed as essential. In view of these restrictions, we have decided that we will not take any new bookings up to 13th July 2020. If you already have a booking with us before 13th July 2020, then please be advised that it still may not be possible for you to travel. Therefore we do ask that if you have not already spoken to us recently, that you do find a suitable date at a later date during 2020, so that we can transfer your booking.  And at a time when we all hope that free movement will no longer be restricted. The re-opening date for self catering accommodation will be reviewed on 9th July by the Government of Wales. We have been advised to prepare for re-opening on 13th July, although this date could be changed to 11th July…to be confirmed.

If you do decide to cancel your holiday, then we strongly recommend that you contact your travel insurance provider to check that you are covered. We always advise our guests that they should take out travel insurance to cover against illness, unexpected events and travel disruption. If you have followed our recommendation, and have the appropriate insurance, then we will be happy to provide you with the information required to make a claim.  If you do decide to cancel please contact us by email or post, as we do require written confirmation. Please state the documentation that you require.

If you have not taken out travel insurance (as strongly recommended) for your holiday, then we can amend your 2020 holiday dates for bookings that are due to take place before 13th July upon request, for a later date this year.  Unfortunately it will not be possible to transfer your dates to 2021, as we cannot guarantee availability in the current economic situation that we all find ourselves in.  Please be advised that your new booking dates may cost more due to seasonal pricing variations.

New bookings from 13th July 2020
We are now accepting new bookings after 13 July 2020, please bear in mind when making a booking that our usual terms and conditions will apply regarding cancellations. All new bookings are made entirely at the guests own risk.

All bookings from 13th July 2020
Unfortunately we have had to withdraw use of sofa beds, towels, cots, high chairs from our properties to assist with the increased work load that our servicing team now has to cope with.  You will also find that all unnecessary items like books, games, dvds, ornaments etc will have been removed from the properties. Please assist us in every way you can, by leaving the properties clean and tidy, opening windows and place all used bedding, tea towels etc in the laundry bag provided. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we do hope that you will understand, and appreciate that these measures are absolutely necessary to ensure your safety, as well as that of our servicing team.

Check-in and Departure Times
We have found it necessary to amend our time of arrival to 5.00pm and checkout is 10.00am prompt.
These times have been put in place for your safety as well as our servicing and maintenance team. We regret that we are unable to offer you an earlier check-in or later departure during the next few months.

Number of Guests in Holiday Properties
Please do not allow anyone other than the permitted number of guests who have been named at the time of making a booking into any of our properties. We have been informed by the Government of Wales told that all guests in each property must all be from the same household only.
